Don’t Be A Holy Spirit Hotel

I know so many people who call themselves Christians and profess to know Jesus, but every time you see them, they are involved in some type of foolishness. These people are misrepresentations of what a believer is, which is in turn why many people would rather burn in hell eternally than commit to God. These so called Christians are not guided by the Holy Spirit. They are guided and governed by their own sinful flesh.

That’s not to say that they have never been touched by the Holy Spirit or felt the presence of the Holy Spirit, they just have not made a definite decision to allow the Holy Spirit to reign supreme in their hearts. These people are what I call Holy Spirit Hotels. They go throughout life doing whatever they want. They do what’s hip, hot, fresh, dope, whatever the jargon is for getting it in by any means. Then they “church” on Sundays and repeat the process week by week. Sometimes, if they have a momentary vacancy in their heart, they will let the Holy Spirit come in and work, but only for a little while. Then it’s back to “no vacancy”.

If you know somebody like this, they are probably always complaining about circumstances that they cannot change. Things are always up side down in there lives. Why? Because the Holy Spirit does not live in them. There is just no vacancy. If there is no Holy Spirit living inside of them, then they don’t possess the power of the Holy Spirit. They cannot speak into their own circumstances. They cannot tell that thing that is not right to “GET RIGHT!” They cannot use this wonderful gift that God has blessed us with, because they have yet to receive it.

Ponder this for a second. You have been waiting on a package from USPS for two weeks. It has been shipped, and all you have to do is be home to sign for it and receive it. But instead of being at home to get your package, you always find somewhere else to be and something else to do. So day after day, your package gets sent back to the post office because no one was there to get it.

That is how the gift of the Holy Spirit works. It has already been shipped, it is simply waiting for you to first, acknowledge (confess) that God gave us the gift of his only Son Jesus, who died on the cross for our sins; and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, which gave us the opportunity to have eternal life.   When you except this gift (and sign for it) it will be yours. The Holy Spirit will be available to take up residency in your heart, and you will then be able to evoke the power of Holy Spirit in your life. I ask you the question today? Does the Holy Spirit live in you? Or are you a Holy Spirit Hotel?
