A Hard Pill to Swallow…Even Harder Pill to Pass

Just a little something to ponder…

There are times in your life when you come to what some would call a crossroad. Your choices are clear and it’s time to make a decision. Just as you are feeling good about the decision you made and start down the road you have chosen. You may come to a sad realization. You are on the road less traveled and you have no one to accompany you. You begin to understand why this road is less traveled. Everybody can’t make the trip. It can get very lonely. Especially for the self proclaimed people person. This may be the hardest pill you ever have to swallow. When you find out all you have known is gone, and there is no turning back. ( Besides, that whole pillar of salt senario is what you would call an undesired outcome.)

So you begin to digest the fact that there is a whole new world in front of you. You cling desperately to a few old items from the past and trudge forward. But you are moving in slow motion, and you can’t figure out why. You try to run, but to no avail. Then you realize those few old items you brought along are actually weighing you down. Once again you find yourself in decision mode. Do you hold on to the last of your past or do you ditch it completely and move forward. You know what you should do, but it’s so difficult to abandon this sliver of comfort. (Pass this hard, enormous pill) As constipation sets in to your spirit, you find yourself at a unanticipated halt. You have come to far to turn back, but the baggage is too heavy to carry another step.

You hear a voice say: How in the hell did you get here? Where the hell are you going?? You’re all alone, and nobody cares. You just need to get back to what is familiar, to what is comfortable… So, what do ya say??? I know the way back………….

You say: THE DEVIL IS A LIAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You say, “I just can’t give up now. I’ve come to far from where I started from. Nobody told me that the road would be easy, and I don’t believe God brought me this far to leave me”.

When you hold on to your past, you open up a door for the enemy to get in and pump your brakes. Whatever the thing is that is holding you hostage and weighing you down, it can not compare to the love of God. You have to realize that God’s love is greater than any love you’ve ever known. So go ahead, uncuff yourself from your unnecessary baggage. Once you’re free, God will move you right into your destiny.
