“Casualty of Someone Elses Harvest”

Seasons change. So does people and circumstances. Each season, whether we know it or not, we plant seeds. Some plant seeds of prosperity, health, and love. While some plant seeds of envy, failure, and death. Let’s say that you are a planter of positive and fruitful seeds and you bring in a harvest that is pleasing to God. But your loved one, (brother, sister, cousin, friend, spouse, etc.) is simultaniously planting seeds of negativity that harvest consequence.  Do you think there is a chance that keeping their company on a regular basis may lead to you suffer their consequences with them?

Say for instance, this hell raiser that happens to be someone you love is in harvest season and doesn’t even know it. You decide to go for a ride to the mall and you let them come along. When you arrive, you both go into Radio Shack to look for electronics. You purchase something and head for the door. As you leave, alarms go off and security confronts you both. You know you are not guilty, but you just can’t say for sure about your companion. As you had guessed, stolen items are found on him/(her) and they arrest you both. You have just become a casualty of someone elses harvest.

Well, Nettie Bee, what are you trying to say??? I’m glad you asked. I am saying that if people refuse to get right, then it will probably be in your best interest to keep them at a distance. But I love ‘em, Nettie Bee!!! I love ‘em!! Right, but the word says that we can not serve two Gods. We have to love one and hate the other. So if we love God, truth, and rightousness, then we have to hate Satan, workers of iniquity, and liars.

Yes, I know first hand that this is a hard task to accomplish if you are a serial people pleaser. But you just can’t worry about whether people will like you or if they get mad because you want to please the Lord. You make your decision and let them make theirs. It’s their eternity. If they want to use it burning in hell, then so be it.  But where do you want to spend your eternity?

Personally, I choose life and I choose God. You don’t have to be a casualty of someone else’s harvest. Why should you have to reap what they sow?  Stand boldly in the Lord, and walk in righteousness. Then you can look forward to your harvest season.
