Recalculating Route

Being lost is one of the worst feelings in the world. Not knowing where you are going or how to get back to some place that is familiar can leave you feeling scared and vulnerable. That's probably why many men will never admit to being lost, because being afraid or vulnerable are not feelings most men cope with easily. So, instead, they drive around aimlessly until they come to some semblance of direction.

Well to help rectify that problem, many people go out and purchase a navigation system. Now getting lost is out of the question. Tom Tom is your new best friend. All you do is type in the destination and off you go. After all, you know where we're going. You just need a little assistance getting there. Right?

Now think about this a little deeper. Do you really know where you are going, let alone how to get there? The answer is probably no. Sometimes in our lives we have so many plans, and aspirations, that we neglect to go to a higher source to find our true destiny.

God is the master planner and we are his children. He created us for a purpose which will ultimately give Him glory.  He equipped us with the tools and talents we need to do the job he has in mind for us. He even set up an in-house navigation system called the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us.

No matter how far off course we go, the Spirit recalculates our route and gets us back on course. Think about your Tom Tom for a minute. He gives you precise directions for the shortest route to your destination. "Turn left in 300 feet". If you go to far, he says "recalculating route" and tells you how to get there from where you are. Even if you miss that turn, he will give you another set of directions. He never gets tired of telling you the right way, because he knows how to get you there from wherever you are.

That is how gracious and merciful God is. He continues to give us direction, even when we continue going the wrong way. He loves us so much that he will go above and beyond to get his lost sheep back where they belong.

So the next time you begin to make plans, and things fall through, don't get discouraged. Just know that God is recalculating your route so He can get you to the RIGHT destination.
