Music is a message, and artists are messengers. They simply observe and report what they see every day in their environment. Here at Don’t Shoot The Messenger (DSTM) we believe that instead of attacking artists for ”calling it as they see it”, we should address the issues that plague our communities all over the USA. Being a lover of music has inspired me to explore the lyrics that blast over our radios and attempt to discover solutions that will prevent the perpetuation of stereotypes.
